Hello,

I would like to present you some pictures from Stuttgart, Germany.
If this is not the correct place for foreign bus photos or foreign busses are not in the focus of this great forum, no problem. Just tell me to know ;)

The public traffic in Stuttgart (around 550.000 population) is performed by the "Stuttgarter Strassenbahnen AG (SSB)".
Beside a very efficient and extended Metro/Tram and Commuter Train network, the SSB has currently also 55 bus lines and a fleet of 259 busses. 170 articulated busses, 70 "normal" busses and 19 hybrid busses.
Not all lines are beeing served by the SSB itself. There are many smaller and bigger private companies, that are operating for the SSB on SSB lines.

Regarding the fleet, unfortunately (in my opinion :() Citaro's dominate the fleet ...
Among the articulated busses, there are also 9 CapaCity's. The rest are Citaro's, Citaro's Facelift and Citaro's C2.
There are only still 4 MAN A21 but they are leaving soon and 3 Volvo 7900H. The Volvo order was for 10 or 12 busses, but I don't know what happened with the rest. This year, 8 new hybrid busses will be ordered and the candidates are again Volvo and Solaris.

In general, Stuttgart and the whole region around the city is empty of Scaninavian busses ... There are 2-3 tourist busses in services and 1-2 times in the year, Scania is bringing a buss for test purposes with one of the smaller bus companies. But, that's all ...

I hope you enjoy the pictures, like I am always enjoying seeing pictures from Sweden :)
Of course, the sorrounding is not so beautiful like in your beautiful country, but I hope it's still ok.

Hallo Marcus, I certainly enjoy reading foreign posts as well, but don't be surprised if the interest in such posts don't reach the same levels as native posts. ☺

Hi Fredrik, thank you. No problem, it's normal to be more interested in local matters ;)
I wanted only to know, if it would be acceptable, in particular for the moderators.

Thank you also, Mikael :)

Hi Micke,

thank you :)

Good places are, in my opinion, the western part of the city with a lot of old buildings from the end of the 19th century, that makes are nice background on the pictures. Also, chances are high, that you will see here the more seldom hybrid busses of the SSB.
For the private companies, a good place is the area around the airport. Many lines there are beeing operated by private companies. The same in the north, around the Porsche-Museum.
If you are more into bigger busses, the new airport busterminal would be a very good place for you!

If you have any other question, feel free to ask me :)

Regards
Marcus
