Hi Wietze,

Was Smit an independent bodybuilder?
A lot of their coaches seem to be built on DAF chassis, did the demise of Smit have anything to do with VDLs takeover of Bova, Berkhof and Jonckheere?
Berkhof´s Axial model has some striking similiarities to the last Smit coaches...

 Smit was an independent bodybuilder, and is sold in 1995 to the VDL group, in 1999 they closed the factory.
The most Smit coaches are indeed builded with DAf engines , but other chassis are also used.
