Bussar i Wilhelmshaven och omnejd (Bilder)

Hej,
I started this topic in order to present some buses from home.

Let's start with an overview of the city bus in Wilhelmshaven: The network is run by a public company called "Stadtwerke Wilhelmshaven" and consists of six different routes (numbers 1-4, 6 and 8; 5 and 7 were abolished a long time ago).

From the late 80's until 2005 the Stadtwerke Wilhelmshaven only bought Neoplan. A very widespread type was the N 4014:





As an articulated bus (ledbus), the Stadtwerke deployed some N 4018.





Around the year 2000, it was time for the new N 4416-generation. From now on, all the new buses had a blue design. The first two vehicles had three doors:



The following series are in the more common version with two doors:


The last Neoplan that came to Wilhelmshaven was this single Neoplan Centroliner Evolution (About 2003)



In 2005 the first MB Citaro arrived - and lots of them followed in the subsequent years.





The most recent purchases (2010-2012) have all been MAN Lion's City.




In the meantime, there had been four second hand buses, which all left after a couple of years:
Two Neoplan N 4021 from Baden-Baden





And two MB O 405 GN² from Berlin


A historical vehicle (NWF BK) maintained by a local club (Verkehrsgeschichte WIlhelmshaven e.V.)

Great pictures! One question thou, are the old buses (N4014, 4018) still in service, or are they gone by now?

The old Neoplan with the big square headlights are gone, but some newer N 4014 and N 4018 are still in service. Last month I saw the N 4018 with the "HEPAG"-advertisement and this "wooden" N 4014.


However, I'm sure they're going to be replaced within the next years.
