I have been watching (again) from Finnish Theme channel the
exellent Japanese (NHK) and Chinese (CCTV) co-production
of Silkroad from ancient Chang Am to ancient Rome in Italy.
There have been shown, now rareties, shots of Chinese steam
in 1978 / 1979 on some Chinese not usually used railway lines.
For example serie FD and QJ locomotives (1E1-h2) crossing
Yellow River railway bridge west of ancient eastern end of Silkroad.
Both classes (Soviet built serie FD20 / FD21 and Chinese built
serie QJ) hauling heavy freight trains toward Sian (Xian).
Then Chinese built serie JS (1D1-h2) locomotives hauling express
and passenger trains out of Sian (Xian) toward western direction.
The usual train formation of passenger trains were 10 cars behind
tender.
